investigation. >> we're keeping an eye on the potential for some winter weather, first. i'm shawn yancy. >> and i'm brian bolter. a few changes tomorrow. when, where, and what. i guess that's three questions, sue palka is in the weather center. >> i can only answer one at this time, brian. actually, we have rain coming and i want you to see it's all ahead of a cold front, and you're right, the timing is everything because we have temperatures in the 30s, and we expect them to drop a little bit more. we expect the bulk of that rain to get to dc between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning, but there are some areas where it will arrive earlier, and because the air will be colder, you could have a wintry mix of maybe a small combination of snow and sleet. right now, we have some high, thin clouds around, and that's actually allowing temperatures to drop a little bit more, so we'll watch those temperatures. that temperature you see there stretches from chicago to the gulf coast. i expect that to be getting closer to the mountains by daybreak, and it will take a
10:02 pm
little bit longer to get into most of the metro area. so for most of us, the morning rush-hour should be dry. for some of you, it will not be, and i wanted to show you we have some winter weather advisories posted to the west, including allegheny county and garrett, for a combination of snow and sleet before it changes to rain in the mountains, where they've already had some snow. so a little fresh coating to continue. it is possible that in some other spotty areas, maybe along and either side of interstate 81, you could have a touch of snow or sleet or an outside chance of freezing rain. the profile doesn't really look like one that would feature freezing rain so much, but check out these temperatures. it's already down to 32 degrees in places like cumberland and martinsburg, and frederick, you're already down. timing will be important. we expect our temperatures to drop to about 27, 28 degrees in the northern and western suburbs, so that's where we'd
10:03 pm
have to watch. for most of us, i don't see it getting here until about 9:00 or so, and hopefully by then, everybody is above freezing. we'll continue to watch this, check the new information and make sure we don't have to twea. >> all right, sue. remember, you can track the winter weather yourself. log onto myfoxdc.com for more information. we're following breaking news in maryland. tonight, a teenager found dead in hillcrest heights. lauren lauren de marco is live at the prince georges county police department. what happened? >> reporter: a lot of questions after this 15-year-old was killed. police are describing his injuries as trauma at this point, and as you can imagine, family members are extremely distraught. detectives going door to door in hillcrest heights looking for leads after a 15-year-old was killed on the street. 10:33 pm
>> as i started pushing her down, telling her to stay up underneath the platform, the train came a little closer. she kind of jetted back out again. i had to push her back in and it was about that time the train rolled through the station. >> reporter: the train and track were deenergized while the woman remained trapped between the platform and the train car still alive. the woman escaped without any serious injuries. >> i had time to sit there and watch it and look at it, you know, just scratch my head and just thankful it was there. >> reporter: and the recent subway attacks brought everything flashing back. >> so if it happens, and you hope people will react and do something, not just stand by and watch. >> reporter: metro has stairs at the end of the platform from the track bed, but if a train is approaching, there may not be time to get there. and if you've managed to avoid being electrocuted by the high voltage third rail, the refuge under the platform may be the only hope of survival.

higher to the west. we have to watch these temperatures tonight, that's for sure. look at frederick down to 28 degrees. we think temperatures aren't going to get a lot colder than this, but there will be a few spots tonight closer to 32 degrees, martinsburg, cumber land, just as it gets closer. we think most of the areas to the west, it would be a combination of snow and sleet but there's a slight chance of a little bit of freezing rain as well. culpepper 28, 29 for monases and dulles. and a lot of places will be close to freezing. as the sun comes up, temperatures will begin to rise, and we don't expect the rain until about 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning. but out here, that rain could start as early as 7:00. so that's why you have some winter weather advisories. it includes portions of allegheny and garrett county and down through preston, into some of the higher elevations to the west. could a little of this sneak closer to the interstate 80 corridor in a spotty fashion?
10:50 pm
yes, it could. so that's why we'll have to watch those cold spots in the morning. but for most of you, this will be maybe an inch of combination of snow and sleet in the higher elevations, and again, a slight chance of freezing rain, but the profile looks more like a snow-sleet combination. we have some clouds around tonight. that is a good thing because it will keep us from getting too terribly cold, and the moisture we can see here, fairly healthy looking as it approaches cincinnati and continues moving fairly rapidly in this direction. there might be one more clear slot before those clouds thicken up and the rain gets closer. here's the future cast to give you an idea of the if timing of this moisture. in hagerstown, we'll see it about 7:00 a.m. and it may be in the form of snow early on for places like hagerstown. 10:00, not quite here to the beltyet. so most of us in the metro area will have a dry morning commute, but sometimes this moves faster.
10:51 pm
you can see patches here and there where there might be a touch of snow and sleet mixed in and maybe some accumulations in the mountains. 12:00 to 1:00, most of us are getting rain along and east of 95, but we're beginning to see some clearing. by the time we get to the evening rush-hour, it's out of here, mostly rain on the eastern shore, and we watch for the big wind to kick up tomorrow night and produce a little bit more additional snow in the mountains. so it's a strong front that we have that will be moving through producing about five or six hours worth of showers. that's gone. the wrap around wind on wednesday keeps us cold and breezy with more snow in the mountains, but it looks like it will get fairly bright for our wednesday. here's your fox 5 accuweather seven-day forecast, so you can see what we're talking about. we drop to 38 on wednesday. only 42 on thursday, and we will have to watch the friday time period, could start with a little bit of wintry mix on friday, and some chance of maybe coastal floating around on some
